Academic Coaching

When students struggle at school, we as teachers must first pinpoint why they face difficulties with specific topics and come up with lessons tailored to support each of these students’ individual learning needs. For example, a discussion on the use of quadratic equations may be explained through cannonball simulations. We have also taught lessons about molecular bonding using scientific simulations to visualize what would otherwise not be seen with the naked eye and outlined debates on whether certain Constitutional Amendments are still relevant in contemporary times using flow charts. Our teachers are keen on presenting complex materials in well-organized and easy-to-understand fashions to maximize students’ learning outcome.

Standard High School Courses

Our experienced teachers offer one-on-one lessons on a broad range of subjects taught in most high schools. Some of these topics include but are not limited to Humanities (World/American Literature and World/U.S. History), Mathematics (Algebra I and II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science), Computer Science (JavaScript and Swift), and Foreign Language (Mandarin Chinese).

Advanced Placement Courses

Advanced Placement (AP) courses are college-level courses taught at the high-school level. Students with passing scores on AP tests have the option to opt out of certain required courses in college. In order to better support our students who are struggling with these advanced topics, we currently offer AP U.S. History, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, AP Physics (1, 2, and C), AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science, and AP Chinese Language and Culture.

Test Preparation

Most international students studying abroad in English-speaking countries are required to demonstrate their English proficiency through the TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo test. Additional standardized tests such as SAT, ACT, and SSAT are often a recommended component during both college and high school admissions processes. Therefore, we offer one-on-one lessons for each of these examinations to maximize students’ success.

Enrichment Courses

“Follow the learner” has always been our motto. We believe that supporting students’ natural curiosity plays an integral role in cultivating their intellect. To fulfill this mission, our educators have taught a wide range of uniquely designed enrichment courses on topics such as inductive and deductive reasoning with respect to scientist Isaac Newton’s and philosopher David Hume’s ideas, the significance of Henri Cartier-Bresson’s photojournalism, or even Greek mythology. If one of our students holds a specific passion, we are more than willing to help encourage and cultivate it through these advanced lessons to support their intellectual growth.
